A short life in a big world

Everywhere she turns she sees that smile. Oh how the memories have haunted her every night. Her baby boy taken from her, how she try to run at first, then stood to defend and grab her baby back.

It was dark and she putting the baby to sleep in a room that was filled with love and warmth. Unfortunately they couldn't afford much so the room was barely full, but the baby didn't mind. The baby was happy as long as his mother was near, for the father had ran away. If the mother ever left the baby didn't know what he would do.

The mother laid the baby's head softly on the pillow in his crib, and the saying "as soon as my head touches the pillow I'll be out like a light" would match this part perfectly. The mother slipped out of the room quietly trying not to wake the baby, but just before she shut the door she had remember that her baby didn't like having the door shut while he was sleeping. So the mother cracked the door sightly, whispering, "Goodnight my little angel." Such a corny thing to say, but seeing her baby laying there so peaceful she couldn't help it.

It was late at night and the mother was sleeping away peacefully when she heard a loud crash. She woke up and immediately went to her baby, but the baby room which was once filled with love and goodnight dreams was now filled with danger and mystery. The mother was surprised to see someone standing there holding her baby, but she couldn't see who it was.

The shadow man made a move toward the door and the mother ran out the door, she was simply terrified. As she reached the front door to her house she stopped and remembered her baby. Her first instinct was not to save the baby but to save herself, how could she be so thoughtless? She turned back around to run to her defenseless baby but the shadow was gone and all she had left of her baby was a bear, for the rest of the stuff was mysteriously gone.

Every night for 18 years she had kept that baby bear on the right pillow of her bed. She had missed her baby, but she new that no matter how long she looked she'd never find her baby. Now after 18 years of searching she cries, wishes and prays to see her beautiful baby again just to hold him again, or might she give herself to the stranger instead so the baby could live a normal life with his grandma.

Now she walked in to the baby room again once filled with love and danger was now filled with the air sadness, there was a man standing by the window next to where the crib used to be. The mother eyed the man walking slowly toward him she thought that she knew who he was.

"Who are you" the mother asked helplessly.
"Why do you not recognize me?" the man asked, " I recognize your voice, and if you let me touch your right hand here," he reached for the mother's right hand, "I would recognize your touch as well."
Then the mother new when the man first talked that the man was no stranger, the man was no threat the man was returning something oh so special to her. He was giving her, her baby.
"My baby" She whispered with tears in her eyes, "OH tell me how did you come to be here? Tell me how you escaped? How did you find me? Oh after all these years of searching. but," the mother realized, "You are no longer a baby, but a man. I still see you as my little baby boy though who was taken away from me all those years ago."
They we're both crying holding each other wishing for time back, or at least the baby was wishing for time back, but the mom knew things happened for a reason. Though we might not know but things do happen for a reason, and we must only pray we understand and appreciate it.
